My Philosophy

It is my goal to take an integrated approach to charitable giving, using a variety of resources to make a difference in the community. I strive to meet community challenges through a combination of support and partnerships with various non-profit organizations whose missions are consistent with my own vision and values. I have established long-term affiliations with a number of prominent organizations, such as the Nonprofit Management Institute (Lodestar Center), The Veterans History Project (U.S. Library of Congress) and other nonprofits organizations.

Among the areas I consider to be vital in each of my afffiliations is the reduction/elimination of violence against women and children. While teaching at the university, I developed a renewed sense of urgency for addressing these areas and I began to include lectures and information on the awareness of such issues as dating violence, spousal/partner abuse, and child abuse. I feel very strongly about the need to immediately reduce and, in the long run, eliminate violence in the home and the workplace.
